Business Support

The Childcare Business and Employer Support Team are available to support childcare providers in Cambridgeshire in business.

They can help with a range of business and marketing issues and their advice is free.

What type of advice is provided?

They can provide one to one support upon request. The advice covers everything from general start up to specifics around business planning, budgets, cashflow, funding, sustainability and marketing.

Cambridge Building Society

The Community Account has been developed for local charities, clubs, and societies. It gives you the flexibility to pay money in and take money out when you want it at any of the local branches.

Charity Bank

Co-operative Bank

The Co-operative Bank works with the Public Sector and local communities to structure products and services to meet individual needs.

Halifax – Bank of Scotland

The Bank of Scotland’s Community Banking has been developed to look after the banking requirements of the Voluntary/Not for Profit sector.

The Treasurers Account has been especially designed for organisations such as clubs, societies, churches and charities and combines an interest paying savings account with a current cheque book account.

NatWest

NatWest provides banking services for non-profit organisations, such as clubs, societies and charities.

Free banking if annual expenditure is under £100k (ie free of the account charges for running and paying amounts into and out of the account).

Employer Supported Childcare

As an employer you can implement an employer supported childcare scheme for your working parents and save your business money.

As an employer you can sae around £360 per employee who is part of your scheme, whilst your working parents could be saving up to £1195 per year in tax and NI on their childcare costs. This could mean a family saving of up to £2390 where both parents are part of a scheme.

There are a range of options for implementing a scheme, from contracting direct with existing local childcare, running a voucher scheme or setting up workplace childcare.

You can choose to give the benefit on top of salary , as part of a flexible benefits package or run a salary sacrfice scheme.
